Several European Countries Are Seeking to Develop Their Cooperation with Algeria in the Area of Renewable Energies

Algeria has substantial potential in the area of renewable energies, especially solar energy, and the launch of a very ambitious government program for this sector at the beginning of the year did not go unnoticed (AOG, 16 Jan., 2011). The European Union (EU), European governments, and industrial companies or consortia - such as Desertec - are thus keen to cooperate with Algeria in this area.
