United Jubail Petrochemical Company (United), a subsidiary of Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (Sabic), has awarded an EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) contract to The Linde Group of Germany for what will be the world's largest carbon dioxide (CO2) purification and liquefaction plant. The facility will have the capacity to compress and purify around 1,500 tons/day of raw CO2 coming from ethylene glycol (EG) plants.
