A Gas Export Policy Would Maximize the Value of the Resources in Israel's EEZ, Says Noble Energy

Noble Energy has discovered a lot of natural gas, mainly offshore Israel but also off the Republic of Cyprus (see preceding article). As far as the first of these countries is concerned, the authorities are waiting for a natural gas policy committee to formulate its recommendations before taking any decisions on whether to start exporting gas. The U.S. company is strongly urging the Israeli government to commit itself firmly to that strategy. It is obviously in Noble Energy's interest, but the company is trying to convince the authorities that it would be in Israel's national interest as well.
