Foster Wheeler Wins EPCM Contract for the Propylene Oxide Unit of the Sadara Complex

Foster Wheeler AG announced on 13 February that subsidiaries of its Global Engineering and Construction Group division had been awarded an EPCM (engineering, procurement and construction management) contract by Aramco Overseas Company B.V. (AOC) and Dow Europe Holding B.V. for a propylene oxide (PO) unit to be built in Jubail. The unit will form part of an integrated petrochemical complex being developed by Sadara Chemical Company (Sadara), a joint venture between Saudi Aramco and The Dow Chemical Company. Foster Wheeler booked the value of the contract, which was not disclosed, in its accounts for the fourth quarter of 2011, which were published on 23 February. No indication has been given as to the capacity of the PO unit, but it is scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2015.
