Rabigh 2 Ethylene Plant to Be Built by a Subsidiary of JGC Corporation

JGC Corporation announced on 17 October that its Saudi subsidiary, JGC Gulf International Co., Ltd. (JGC Gulf), had been awarded a lump-sum, turnkey EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) contract for the ethylene plant to be built as part of phase 2 of the development of the Petro Rabigh refining and petrochemical complex, a project known as Rabigh II. The existing complex, known as Rabigh I, is owned and operated by Rabigh Refining and Petrochemical Company (Petro Rabigh), a joint venture between Saudi Aramco (37.5%) and Sumitomo Chemical Company (37.5%) in which the Saudi public holds the other 25% of the equity.
