In a new report on the United Arab Emirates (UAE) produced after consultations with the authorities,the International Monetary Fund (IMF) stresses once again the country's "sound" economic performance in 2006,with real GDP having grown by 9.4%,driven by an 8% increase in oil production.National income per capita rose to around 38,000 last year,and the UAE has become the second largest economy in the Arab world after Saudi Arabia.
