Ras Laffan Helium Plant Starts Up with Feedstock Provided by the Seven LNG Trains of RasGas and Qatargas

The Ras Laffan helium plant jointly developed by RasGas,RasGas II and Qatargas and operated by RasGas Company Limited was brought on stream on 5 September.It was built by Air Liquide Engineering S.A.,part of the French group Air Liquide,and has the capacity to extract,purify and liquefy 660 million cu ft/year of helium.It receives its crude helium stream from the seven existing liquefaction trains of RasGas(four)and Qatargas(three).
