WesternGeco Has Already Acquired 3,000 Line Km of 2-D Seismic Data for SRAK

WesternGeco,which is carrying out a 2-D seismic survey over the 210,000-sq km acreage held by South Rub'Al-Khali Company (SRAK),a joint venture between Royal Dutch/Shell,Total and Saudi Aramco,has already acquired 3,000 line km of data using two seismic crews.According to the company's Director in Saudi Arabia,Mr.Yasser Elshazly,as quoted by Shell in the Middle East in its edition of January 2005,a third seismic crew should soon start work on the project and the planned acquisition of 10,000 line km of data should be completed in November.
