We have capacity of about 22 million tons/year and it is divided between five refineries.The Algiers plant,which has been operational since 1964,has a capacity of 2.7 million tons/year but produces more than that.It is specialized in fuels,gas oil and kerosene and 45% of its production is exported.The Arzew refinery,which has been in production since 1973,has a capacity of 2.5 million tons/year and its specialties are fuels,lubricants - 155,000 tons/year - and asphalt (145,000 tons/year).Our largest refinery,Skikda (1980),has a capacity of 15 million tons/year.Most of its output is exported and it is geared to the production of fuels,aromatics and asphalt (145,000 tons/year) in particular.At Hassi Messaoud,which is specialized in fuels,capacity is 1.2 million tons/year.And our smallest plant is In Amenas,with a capacity of only 300,000 tons/year [Editor's note:This plant has not operated since 1986].
