New US4-Billion Contract Awarded to Technip/Chiyoda for Qatargas Trains 6 and 7

The joint venture composed of the French company Technip and Chiyoda Corporation of Japan has been awarded a contract by Qatar Liquefied Company Limited(3)(Qatargas 3)and Qatargas 4 for the construction of two of the largest liquefaction trains in the world.The contract is worth about US4 billion and covers the engineering,equipment procurement and construction of trains 6 and 7 of the Qatargas liquefaction complex in Ras Laffan.The trains will be located alongside trains 4 and 5,which are also being built by Technip/Chiyoda under a contract concluded with Qatargas II(AOG,16 March,2005).Each of the new trains will have a capacity of 7.8 million tons/year.
