Tanganyika Oil Company of Canada confirmed on 22 September that it was engaged in exclusive negotiations with a third party for the sale of all its shares. "Tanganyika is publishing this press release in response to recent speculation about the potential sale of the company," it explained in a statement. "No assurance can be advanced that these talks will result in an irrevocable agreement." The company added that it would not publish any more information on the subject until the talks had either resulted in the conclusion of an agreement or had broken down.
