Gas Production Could Start in 2007 at 180 MCFD,and Rise to 600 MCFD in 2011 and 1 BCFD by 2015

On the occasion of the 2~(nd) Oil and Gas Conference and Exhibition held in Kuwait City,the Chairman and Managing Director of Kuwait Oil Company (KOC),Mr.Farouk al-Zanki,announced that Kuwait could start producing natural gas in late 2007 or early 2008 at a rate of 180 million cu ft/day,together with over 50,000 b/d of condensate.Within the next few days KOC will finalize a draft development plan for the gas reserves discovered in the country and submit it for the approval of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC).
