Budget Surplus Bounded by 132.8% to US2.37 Billion in Fiscal 2004-2005

Qatar's budget surplus soared to QR 8,619 million(US2.37 billion)in 2004-05 from QR 3,703 million in 2003-04,according to the provisional estimates of the Central Bank of Qatar.Total receipts amounted to QR 39.47 billion(up from QR 30.72 billion in 2003-04),including oil and gas revenues of QR 21.83 billion(QR 19.76 billion),representing 55.3% of the total,and investment income of QR 13.87 billion(QR 8.06 billion).Total expenditure increased to QR 30.85 billion in 2004-05 from QR 27.02 billion the year before,including development spending of QR 7.06 billion(QR 5.24 billion).
