ChevronTexaco Launches a GTL Project in Nigeria and Awards a FEED Contract for the Angola LNG Project

ChevronTexaco Corporation recently reported two very significant steps forward in the development and exploitation of substantial gas reserves in Africa and in the implementation of integrated gas projects,which are two of its principal strategic objectives.In Nigeria,Chevron Nigeria Ltd.(CNL) has awarded Team JKS an EPC (engineering,procurement and construction) contract worth us1.7 billion for the Escravos Gas-to-Liquids (EGTL) project.Team JKS is a consortium composed of JGC Corporation,Kellogg Brown & Root (part of the Halliburton group) and Snamprogetti (a subsidiary of Eni).
