Saudi Aramco,ExxonMobil and Sinopec Finalize Agreement for the Fujian Refining/Petrochemical Complex

Saudi Aramco,Exxon Mobil Corporation and Sinopec finalized four agreements on 8 July relating to their joint refining and petrochemical venture at Quangang,in the town of Quanzhou,on the coast of the Chinese province of Fujian."We have finally arrived at the point where the project is going to move forward," observed the Chief Executive Officer of ExxonMobil,Mr.Lee Raymond."This project has been under negotiation for a very,very long time,at least 10 years." The agreements concluded cover in particular the statutes of the joint venture and a crude supply contract.The associates agreed to submit these documents for the approval of the Chinese Ministry of Trade.Fujian Refining Ethylene Project will be a joint venture between Fujian Petrochemical Company Ltd.(FPCL - 50%),ExxonMobil China Petrochemical Co.Ltd.(25%) and Aramco Overseas Company (AOC - 25%).
