In the view of the Chairman of National Oil Corporation (NOC), Mr. Shokri Ghanem, the Libyan oil sector's performance in 2009 was outstanding. The volumes produced last year were offset by additions to reserves. He pointed out that exploration activity had been very positive, with 13 discoveries having been made, representing a success rate of 28%.
