BP Could Partner with KPI and Sinopec in the Zhanjiang Refining/Petrochemical Joint Venture

Kuwait Petroleum International (KPI), a subsidiary of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC), and Sinopec are due to select their international partners in March 2010 for the refining-and-petrochemical complex they plan to develop at Zhanjiang, in southern China, the Chairman of KPI, Mr. Hussein Esmaiel, told the Kuwait News Agency (Kuna). Their choice will only become definitive once China's National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) has approved the project, which should happen in the first quarter of next year, said Mr. Esmaiel.
