BG Has Brought the Offshore Sequoia Field into Production, Six Months Ahead of Schedule

The first gas from the offshore Sequoia field was delivered on 8 August, six months ahead of schedule, BG Egypt has announced. The field straddles two tracts in the Mediterranean - West Delta Deep Marine (WDDM) and Rosetta - and its development cost $1 billion. The project comprised phase 6 of the development of the WDDM tract and phase 4 of the development of Rosetta (AOG, 16 June, 2009). Six subsea wells drilled in water depths of 105-535 meters have been brought into production, three on each tract, and BG says they should enable the production plateau to be maintained.
