Investors in automotive stocks have been acting crazy. At the end of 2022, as investors were aggressively dumping multiple companies tied to autonomous driving and related technologies, they were aggressively bidding up the price of the autonomous technology firm Mobileye Global, following its spinoff from Intel and subsequent IPO. In mid-December, Mobileye's market cap was 25 billion US dollars, more than 14 times expected revenue of 1.8 billion US dollars in 2022. At the time, Mobileye's valuation was twice Continental AG's and 1.5 times Magna International's.
