Total's Share of Hydrocarbon Production in the Middle East Increased by 20.3% to 527,000 BOE/D in 2010

The worldwide hydrocarbon production of the French company Total increased by 4.2% to 2,378,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day last year, and that rise was mainly due to the Middle East, where its output bounded by 20.3% to 527,000 boe/d in 2010. North America was the only region where Total's production rose by a greater margin (171%) last year, but the volume involved was much smaller (65,000 boe/d). The Middle East accounted for 22.2% of the company's worldwide production in 2010, up from 19.2% the year before (see table on following page).
