MENA Hydrocarbons to Acquire a 30% Stake in Block 9 Held by Kulczyk Oil Ventures

The Canadian company Kulczyk Ventures Inc. (KOV) has announced that MENA Hydrocarbons (Syria) Ltd., a subsidiary of MENA Hydrocarbons Inc., also of Canada, has agreed to acquire a 30% interest in Block 9, which is held by Loon Latakia Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of KOV. Under the agreement, MENA will reimburse KOV for 30% of its outlays on the tract to date (6 September), amounting to around $10.4 million, finance 60% of the cost of the first exploration well, and cover 30% of the bank guarantee of $6,758,241 furnished by KOV.
