Oil Minister Reiterates that Iran Is In Second Place Worldwide for Both Oil and Gas Reserves

Iran is in second place worldwide for its hydrocarbon reserves,both for gas and for oil reserves,insisted the Oil Minister,Mr.Bijan Namdar Zanganeh,once again.At a press conference in Tehran,Mr.Zanganeh advanced a "new" oil reserve estimate of 132 billion barrels,while putting Iranian natural gas reserves at 27.3 trillion cu ft.That gives Iran the world's second largest oil reserves after Saudi Arabia and the second largest gas reserves after Russia,and Mr.Zanganeh attributed the latest estimates to "new" discoveries,especially the Yadavaran oilfield and the Lavan gas field.
