At a meeting in Cairo with members of the Egyptian branch of the United States Chamber of Commerce,Oil Minister Sameh Fahmy stressed the important role that American companies have played in the country's oil sector over the past 30 years,and provided the following details about their activities:There are 18 U.S.companies working in this sector,11 of them in exploration and production,two in marketing and distribution and five in services and projects.
