Noble Energy Suspends the Leviathan 1 Well and Confirms the Completion of the Tamar Development for the End of 2012

Noble Energy has suspended the Leviathan 1 well, which was being drilled to test the potential of a deep prospect on the offshore Rachel license. The U.S. company indicated on 1 April that it had found some wear in the well's casing and that additional materials and equipment were required to complete the well that were not available in Israel. As a result, Noble Energy was preparing to transfer the Sedco Express drilling rig to the neighboring Tamar field, which is located on the Matan license and where development drilling was due to begin one week later. The company confirmed that the development of the Tamar field would be completed at the end of 2012, as planned.
