Cryogenic Trapping System for Gas Chromatography

GL Sciences has released an upgrade to their CryoFocus 4.Cryogenic cold trapping is a technique where part of a column is cooled down to temperatures down to-150℃.Analytes are focused at the head of the column by cooling its selected section to sub-ambient temperature.Analytes that might normally not be retained,can now be trapped.This refocussing within the cryo-trap will result in sharper peaks on your chromatogram.Using the same technique as in the OPTIC instrument,the CryoFocus has a highly accurate and very fast heating ramp,up to 60℃/sec.The temperature range is limited to 350℃ so that it can operate within the temperature limits of GC capillary columns.With a fast heating cryo-trap,better detection limit and better resolution can be seen on the detector.
