Air Products and Samsung Engineering to Build an Air Separation Unit for GAS

National Industrial Gases Company (GAS), a subsidiary of Saudi Basic Industrial Corporation (Sabic), has awarded contracts to Air Products of the United States and Samsung Engineering of South Korea for the construction of an air separation unit (ASU). The plant is to be located in Jubail and will have the capacity to produce 3,550 tons/day of gaseous oxygen, 3,600 tons/day of nitrogen and 150 tons/day of argon from compressed air utilizing the cryogenic separation process.
