J.Ray McDermott Wins a Seven-Year Contract for Upstream Facilities at Offshore Fields

J.Ray McDermott,a subsidiary of the U.S.company McDermott International,has signed a seven-year contract-designated a Long-Term Agreement(LTA)-with Saudi Aramco for the engineering,procurement,construction and installation of equipment at offshore fields as part of the"Maintain Potential"program.The contract encompasses several lots of work for which contracts will be awarded in the coming years.The first lot comprises 13 jackets,11 decks and a connection platform-structures weighing some 17,500 ton altogether-which are to be built by J.Ray at its shipyard in Jebel Ali(Dubai)and installed in zones where the water is 14-55 meters deep.The company is also to lay a dozen pipelines totaling 70 km in length,as well as 53 km of subsea cables.
