Sabic and Sinopec Start Work on the Construction of the Tianjin Polycarbonate Plant

Sinopec Sabic Tianjin Petrochemical Company (SSTPC) started work on 3 April on the construction of a polycarbonate plant at its complex in Tianjin, China, which will have a capacity of 260,000 tons/year. A memorandum of understanding concerning this project was signed last May between Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (Sabic) and China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation (Sinopec ~ AOG, 1 June, 2011). SSTPC was established in October 2009 as a 50:50% joint venture between the two companies.
