The Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources has put back from 1 August to 15 September the closing date for the submission of prequalification applications regarding the tender for the exploration, development and exploitation of three offshore blocks. The blocks are located in Syrian territorial waters and the country's Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ). They are adjacent and cover a total area of 9,038 sq km, extending from south to north about five kilometers from the coast (AOG, 16 April, 2011). The closing date for bids for the three blocks is maintained at 5 October.
