20th World Petroleum Congress: Consecration of Qatar's Role on the World Energy Stage

The 20th World Petroleum Congress (WPC), which took place in Doha from 5 to 8 December under the theme "Energy, solutions for everyone: Promoting cooperation, innovation and investment", consecrated Qatar's dominant role on the world energy stage, especially in the area of natural gas. "This is a great event, which we have the honor to host in Qatar, especially as it is convened for the first time in the Middle East after almost 80 years since the founding of the World Petroleum Council, which coincided with the first exploration operations and the dawn of the oil industry in the Middle East," declared the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani, in his opening address to the Congress.
