Fluor Corporation Awarded the Contract for the Utilities and Offsites of the Sadara Chemical Complex in Jubail

Fluor Corporation announced on 4 August that it had been awarded a lump-sum EPCM (engineering, procurement and construction management) contract by Saudi Aramco and The Dow Chemical Company for all the utilities and offsites of their future petrochemical complex in Jubail. The complex is to be developed and operated by Sadara Chemical Company, a joint venture that the two companies established in July (AOG, 1 Aug., 2011). The value of the contract was not disclosed, but Fluor said it would book it into its accounts for the second quarter. In a report on its second-quarter results, Fluor indicated that the new contracts it won between April and June, including that from Sadara Chemical, were worth a total of $3.2 billion.
