摘要

As if to stress its determination to go ahead with its plans for developing the sour gas reserves of the Shah oil field with or without a foreign partner, Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) was quick to award five EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) contracts worth $5.55 billion, as well as two project management consulting (PMC) services contracts, the day after ConocoPhillips announced its withdrawal from the project on 28 April (AOG, 1 May, 2010). ADNOC pointed out that the facilities were scheduled for completion in 2014. A contract for an initial works package had been awarded to the local firm Al-Jaber Energy Services in March; worth Dh 1.1 billion ($300 million), it covered the preparation of the whole site (AOG, 1 April, 2010).
