Petroceltic International Has Discovered a Substantial Gas Accumulation at Ain Tsila

The Dublin-based Irish company Petroceltic International plc, operator of the Isarene tract, thinks it has discovered and confirmed the existence of a substantial accumulation of gas within the Ain Tsila field thanks to three wells it has drilled there. Appraisal well Ain Tsila-3 (AT-3), the second well drilled to delineate the Ain Tsila gas and condensate discovery, encountered an 80-meter gas column in an Ordovician reservoir. Subsequent testing of the well indicated that the gas structure stretched for more than 22 kilometers between discovery well AT-1 and the AT-3 well. Petroceltic explained that the accumulation was "probably continuous" and that it should be able to produce over 30 million cubic feet of gas per day after stimulation by fracturing.
