Ebla Gas Processing Plant Has Come on Stream at a Rate of 2.8 Million Cu M/Day

The General Petroleum Corporation (GPC) announced on 16 March that the gas processing plant connected with the Ebla gas development project had come on stream. Petro-Canada (which has now been taken over by Suncor) was the operator for this project with a 100% interest, under the terms of a production-sharing agreement covering the development and exploitation of the Ash Shaer and Cherrife gas fields. The plant has the capacity to process 2.8 million cu m/day of raw gas for the production of 2.5 million cu m/day of sales gas, 120 tons/day of domestic butane and around 2,500 b/d of condensate. The plant was built by Petrofac under a $477-million contract awarded in 2008 (AOG, 16 April, 2008).
