Dana Gas Has Started Gas Production at the Al Basant Field,Which Contains Estimated Reserves of Over 123 Billion Cu Ft

Sharjah-based Dana Gas has announced the start of production from its recent gas/condensate discovery at Al Basant,on the onshore West El Manzala concession in the Nile delta region.The discovery well,which was completed last October,produced a test flow of 23.5 million cu ft/day of natural gas and 1,027 b/d of condensate.Two months later the Al Basant-2 appraisal well was completed and tested,yielding 10 million cu ft/day of gas and 150 b/d of condensate from a new zone (AOG,1 Nov.,2008,and 16 Jan.,2009).
