Coal car loadings down on demand

Coal volume on major North American railroads is not expected to pick up in the first part of the year, carriers said as they disclosed fourth-quarter results. Of the six publicly held Class I railroads, five have released results and said domestic coal volume and revenue were down in the quarter.
