Saudi Acrylic Acid Co. and Evonik to Develop an 80,000- Ton/Year Polymers Plant in Jubail

Sahara Petrochemical Company has announced that Saudi Acrylic Acid Co. Ltd. (SAAC), a joint subsidiary of Sahara and National Industrialization Company (Tasnee), has signed the broad outlines of an agreement with the German company Evonik Industries AG covering the formation of a joint venture for the development of a super-absorbent polymers plant in Jubail. The plant is due to have a capacity of 80,000 tons/year and the plan is for it to enter production in early 2013. Sahara Petrochemical Company holds a 43.12% interest in SAAC.
