Emaar Signs MOU with Emal for the Construction of an Aluminum Smelter in King Abdallah Economic City

Emaar,The Economic City(Emaar E.C.),a Saudi joint-stock company run by Dubai-based Emaar Properties that is developing King Abdallah Economic City(KAEC),has signed a memorandum of understanding(MOU)with Emal International for the construction of an aluminum smelter in the KAEC.The plant,which was originally expected to cost SR 18.4 billion(5 billion),is to have a capacity of 700,000 tons/year in an initial phase,which could be doubled at a later stage.
