Mn alloy price downfall slowed in August on optimistic sentiments in the American consuming industry despite persistent oversupply. SiMn (65 Mn; 17 Si) prices went down by only $17/t to $1,375/t ($0.62/lb) DDP against a $38/t decrease in July, and HC FeMn (75 Mn) prices dropped by $14/t to $1,373/t DDP after losing $51/t the month before. Suppliers are moderately optimistic, anticipating an upturn in global Mn ore prices.
