Japanese ferroalloy market still affected by Mn alloy oversupply and slow consumption recovery

Unfavourable fundamentals in the Japanese consuming sector and Mn alloy oversupply continue to put significant pressure on ferroalloy suppliers. As a result, the offers of SiMn (65 Mn; 16 Si) to Japan dropped by some $125/t month-on-month to $870/t CIF in August. HC FeMn was quoted within $850-900/t CIF ($990-1,020/t CIF in July).
