Competition to soften in Turkish ferroalloy market

Turkish end users have been showing interest in manganese alloys in December, accepting higher prices amid improved consumption. Ukrainian merchants have managed to recover positions and raise the prices. SiMn (71 Mn; 17 Si) has been sold at $1,050?1,075/t CIF ($1,030/t CIF in November). Indian material has been popular, too. The alloy (65 Mn; 16 Si) has been sold at $975?1,045/t CIF, with the quotes reaching $1,010?1,060/t CIF by the month-end (up $75/t m-o-m) amid scarce supply. Georgian merchants have been quoting the most competitive prices, with supply being short, too. A steelmaker has bought the alloy (68 Mn; 17 Si) at $1,000/t EXW.
