Manganese alloy prices to rise again in USA on tight supply

Better conditions in the US consuming sector and the lack of manganese alloys have again supported prices in December. SiMn (65 Mn; 16 Si) has been offered at $1,100/t DDP, the same as last month, and HC FeMn (75 Mn) at $1,185/t DDP, up some $10/t. The steelmaking segment in the USA stays active, with production being stable. According to Metal Expert's data, the country produced 6.12 million t of steel in November (6.14 million t in October). The recovery will continue as demand from the key consuming industries, including the automotive one, is firm. The USA produced 65.4 million t of steel in January-November, down 19 y-o-y.
