Uptrend may stop in Mn alloy segment in USA on higher imports

Recovery of consumption in the US continues to support Mn alloy suppliers. The offers of SiMn (65 Mn; 17 Si) rose by $5/t month-on-month to some $1,070/t DDP in October, while those of HC FeMn (75 Mn) stayed stable at $1,175/t DDP. The US steelmaking industry is still demonstrating positive dynamics. Steel output in the country reached 5.7 million t in September (5.59 million t in August), while the average steelmaking capacity utilization was slightly below 66 (up to almost 70 in October).
