Coal swaps contracts swung between gains and losses today.European paper prices were strongest at the front of thecurve, with the prompt-month contract increasing by 35?/ton the day to settle at $46.05/t.But contracts further along the curve declined, with thefirst-quarter 2017 contract ending down by 5?/t at $46.20/t.The calendar 2017 contract opened 20?/t below yesterday’sclosing price at $46/t, and fell to an intra-day low of$45.70/t before recovering to a high of $46.40/t at around14:30 BST. But the contract shed these gains to end down by15?/t on the day at $46.05/t.
