Despite falling gas prices, spot power gained 11 pct on average last week, but remained below 100 dollars/MWh in most locations. In the Northeast, New York City gained 53 pct and the lower Hudson Valley 30 pct. PJM fell 17 pct. In the Midwest, Cinergy and Northern Illinois were up about 16 pct. For Oct. 20-24, the National Weather Service noted a high probability of above-normal temperatures in the southeastern part of the country and cooler-than-normal weather along the southern Pacific Coast.
