Stronger power, crude prices up curve

Coal swaps prices on the European over-the-counter market rose again across the curve on stronger power prices and dark spread hedging by banks and utilities. During a busy session, energy prices surged higher across the complex. Dated BFO prices on the crude oil markets jumped 82 cents/metric tonne on the back of increasing demand. And in the German power market calendar 2007 improved 48 cents/MWh and calendar 2006 added 52 cents/MWh to 37.03 euros/MWh, traders said.
