Prompt European coal swaps on the OTC market surged by 1 dollars/metric tonne (mt) on the back of strong buying and API 4 (fob Richards Bay) prices fell as several traders purchased implied freight - the differential between the API 2 (cif ARA) and API 4 contracts.
