Prices for thermal coal exported out of the Atlantic basin overthe prompt 60 days fell again this week as the few sellers stillin the market lowered offers to try to induce demand.The spot price for coal delivered into Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp reached a fresh 12-year low on 7 Decemberas producers outside of the US took advantage of weakening currencies to lower dollar-denominated prices but maintainprofitability when converting back to local currency. The Colombiancurrency ended this week at 0.0003 to the US dollar,the lowest level since at least 1992.
