A UK carbon tax of ￡75/t ($119/t) CO2 equivalent (CO2e) in 2030 will still not be high enough to deter all coal-fired power generation, a new report by Imperial College said.The report modelled six different scenarios for the effect of various energy policies on electricity generation in the UK, none include the complete removal of coal-fired power.
