Talen cuts planned 2015-18 coal receipts

Merchant generator Talen Energy is reducing scheduled coaldeliveries in 2015-18 as utilization rates drop at its coal-firedpower plants in the mid-Atlantic region.Capacity factors at Talen's coal plants in the PJM Interconectionaveraged 47pc in January-September, down from 48pc a yearearlier. By contrast, the Colstrip power plant that Talen operatesand partially owns in Montana averaged a 75pc capacity factor.
